Power to the People

"Power to the People is a wine made from a 2009 harvest of Californian syrah grapes from two premium vineyards: Thompson Vineyard and McGinley Vineyard. The result is the first commercial release of wine from Shirah Wine Co., a small California-based winery that sources premium fruit from Californian vineyards to produce very exclusive kosher wines - one of the few wineries that specialize in this niche offering.Miller Creative was called upon to create an elegant, yet powerful look for the wine, which has full-bodied fruit flavors and a complex character. We thought the name "Power to the People", evoked old propaganda posters. A bold fist crushing grapes in its grip sits in the center, with the classic propaganda rays and Soviet-style typography. Various visual references to wine and Judaism embellish this intricate label."Click to read more on The Dieline Wine ...

Living In: O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Loosely based on Homer’s Odyssey, O Brother, Where Art Thou? is the Coen brothers’ sepia-toned adventure through Depression-era Mississippi. The film oozes Southern charm of the Dust Bowl variety — suspenders and rocking chairs; front porches and mint juleps; escaped convicts and well-pomaded hair. Bluegrass sets the whole story on its feet, and wow, I [...]

Sir Kensington's Ketchup Miniature Jars

You may remember Sir Kensington's Gourmet Scooping Ketchup from the last we featured it:"We're excited to say that we've released the next version of these, which are 1.5oz miniature jars evoking the same aesthetic as the larger ones. Our intention was to create a compelling option for premium hotels, restaurants, and caterers to offer their customers in single-serve sizes. Though this exists in jams, jellies, and mustards, we simply didn't think it existed with ketchup."

Cut Chair by Peter Bristol

The Cut Chair by Peter Bristol looks like a sketchy place to sit, but in fact is an optical illusion that provides a stable seat. A plate concealed by a thick carpet allows a robust cantilevered seat. Three well placed leg “stumps” and the chair looks as though it has just been magically sliced apart. [...]
