MILANO EXPO 2015: Life / Paper-made Water Container

"Life is a recyled paper-made water container designed for Milano Expo 2015 presented to Comieco Expopack Design Competition in 2011. It is designed to provide an essential service into the expo area and the city of Milan: the free access and the use of public water. It’s a product designed to promote the reduction of plastic containers and a sustainable culture about water and natural resources. Several access points inside Milan and the Expo area will provide the container for free and the visitors will use it as a 1 day bottle, refilling it several times during the tour. Made by recycled paper, it doesn’t use any chemical ink or adhesive difficult to be recycled. A double stitch ensures the insulation from outside and give rigidity to the object. The green cord, that allows the users to bring it as a shoulder bag, is made by natural cotton and is wrapped around the paper body."

Duel

This is a product of Duel Supply Co., Los Angeles, CA. Made using only the finest materials, ingredients and superior workmanship. Duel products are produced in limited runs and are, by nature of this process, one of kind. This product was designed with the intention not to be for every man. It is meant for the discerning man. It is based off 1800's barber shop recipes that had thought to have been lost with time. Duel discovered these recipes and after 2 years of perfecting them, they are ready to share with the world. The overall Duel brand identity is based off vintage wood block lettering but made contemporary to represent the fusion of past and present. The grooming line identity is period specific (1800's) to when the recipes were developed. The grooming products labeling references old Bourbon labels (base notes of the grooming line are different liquors e.g. Bourbon and Vodka) and Civil War military paperwork.

J Lally gourmet delights were designed for an airline retail market. Retail In Motion did a superb job at executing the travel concept to fit the airline retail company. "As we are a airline retail company, the concept has a travel theme to it. I have used cute illustrations and language to emphasize the size of the nuts in comparison to other varieties. The packaging contains a die cut which allows the product to be seen from the outside. The tagline which reads " Please no eye rubbing these nuts are real" further reinforces the cute, fun nature of the brand."

Visual vs. Verbal Communication: Why Packaging is So Essential to Brand-Building

I wrote and published an article once with the title: “Advertising is Dead. Long Live Packaging”. Since this came up in a recent interview with another publication, I thought it worth discussing. While the title of the article is a bit of an exaggeration for the sake of grabbing attention, there’s more than a kernel of truth to it. With increasingly fragmented audiences and more consumers tuning out conventional advertising than ever, the whole proposition needs rethinking.
