Most die from dehydration from diarrhea. With that in mind, Simon Berry, founder and CEO of Cola-Life is working with Coca-Cola to open their distribution channels in developing countries to carry ‘social products’ – oral rehydration salts and Zinc supplements – to save children’s lives. (5 years ago)
"Heineken Reveals Winner of Your Future Bottle ‘Remix’ Challenge Fernando Degrossi from Brazil Heineken® reveals winner of Your Future Bottle ‘Remix’ Challenge wins global design contest Amsterdam 12th April 2013: Heineken® today announced that Fernando Degrossi is the winner of the 2012/13 Your Future Bottle Design Challenge. The winning design was selected at a live judging event at The Magazzini, Heineken’s space in the heart of the creative community at Milan Design Week, which has been visited by more than 10,000 design fans since opening on Tuesday. Fernando’s design beat almost 2,000 entries and becomes the second Limited Edition bottle that will be produced. It will go on sale around the world in early 2014. To celebrate its 140th year, Heineken® put its design treasures online and challenged creative minds everywhere to ‘remix’ these assets into an iconic bottle, designed for the future. The remix theme gave designers total freedom to delve into Heineken’s® past and play with the brands DNA to create a cool new design. The winning approach remixes five circular Heineken logos from five different decades, and incorporates the red star, Heineken’s famous trademark. The judges all agreed that the design was very clever, with the combination of assets spelling out ‘Heineken’ in a way that is totally fresh but instantly recognizable. The judging panel - made up of designer Joshua[..]

@ The Dieline Conference: Eco Doen't Have To Be Boring

Tim Hankins will be speaking at The Dieline Package Design Conference 2013 on Eco Doen't Have To Be Boring.   Eco Doen't Have To Be Boring Just because it's eco-friendly doesn't mean it literally has to be green. Hear about the origins of the Honest Company and how embracing design as a tenet is an effective way for Honest to stand out in increasingly crowded, eco-conscious consumer product categories. Give people something they are proud to use and willing to showcase on their countertops—or on their child's bottom!   About Tim Hankins Born in Iowa, raised in Northern California and currently based in Los Angeles, Tim is responsible for the continued development of the Honest Company brand and its creative vision through product packaging, design, print, web and mobile applications. Hankins pursued design to explore his creative interests: art, music, film, games and technology. A childhood hobby became a career when Hankins joined ARTISTdirect in 2000. He then founded his own firm where he designed for diverse clients such as Walt Disney Records, supermodel Marisa Miller, and the LA Philharmonic. The birth of his son prompted Hankins to look for a new challenge after working years in the technology and entertainment industries. He wanted his work to have an impact on his surroundings and the founding of the Honest Company presented the perfect opportunity. Hankins now blends design with healthy, non-toxic products for his family—and the world.  [..]
