Just 2 weeks away from The Dieline Conference! Register to ELEVATE your package design Career.    Now in it's 3rd year, The Dieline Package Design Conference has become the leading design conference focused on the package design industry and package designers. This year's theme is ELEVATE, it is all about elevating the role of package design in the marketing mix, and elevating the package design industry as a whole. The Dieline Package Design Conference sessions will: Teach you how to consider the role of design in improving sales of a product and tactics for creating meaningful differentiation. There are plenty of beautiful designs out there, but few reinvent the perceptions of products benefits or pay off by shifting cultural ideology. Provide you with the language and tools need to convince decision makers that your designs are truly communicating to the brand target. Our goal is to go beyond presentations about geeking out on typography or what colors are in this year. We want to teach you to be better at considering the role of design in improving sales of a product, and to create meaningful differentiation. Inspire in the form of fantastic work from packaging industry experts, tips on effective processes and advice on successfully reinventing brands. We will elevate the role of package designers beyond craftsmanship discussion, and our sessions will discuss becoming more influential and in demand. Celebrate excellence at The Dieline Package Design Awards[..]

Coca Cola's Botella de Hileo (Ice Bottle)

Coca Cola Colombia released a commercial spotting Coca Cola bottles made entirely of ice, reminding consumers that as the temperature rises, a bottle of Coke is best served "Iced Cold". In this spot we see a crowded colombian beach with people of all ages ordering and enjoying their bottle of Coke served in ice bottles on the beach. We've seen plenty of concept bars and parties served drinks in frozen shot glasses and tumblers before, usually in a room with controlled temperature, not in the middle of the beach on a hot summer's day. We think it's a pretty nifty idea for a seasonal promotion - a great selling point for a pop up bar - or a beach party. Check out the video after the jump!

RedWell

Designed by Graphic Design students (Tim A’Court, Jason Drake and Sam Povey) at Norwich University of the Arts, the identity was commissioned via the University's commercial design service ideasfactory@NUA which enables outside businesses to commission live briefs.  "The creative concept is based on the idea that some things are worth waiting for - reflecting the nature of how long it takes to brew a specialist beer. The designs therefore include time-based solutions, such as the ticket you take as you wait in line at the deli and an hourglass. Indeed, it is worth noting that the hourglass logo includes a bottle hidden in it, reinforcing the creative concept."

Brew Tea Co. Whole Leaf Tea

Brew Tea Co. Whole Leaf Tea were looking to expand into the retail sector, having firmly established themselves supplying tea wholesale to independent shops, museums, galleries and boutique hotels. The task was undertaken by Interabang, a new London design agency, founded by Adam Giles and Ian McLean. The Brew Tea Co. Whole Leaf Tea rebrand needed a new direction that clarified their offer: not complicated tea or weird tea, but better tea - both whole leaf tea bags and loose leaf.
