Cocoon

Designed by Anagrama, Cocoon is a designer jewelry and accessory shop with more than ten years of experience. It's located in Monterrey, Mexico, even though Cocoon indulges American and European audiences as well. The jewelry is carefully designed and distinctively handcrafted using mixed metals, quartzes and other decorative natural stones in their in-house workshop. The results are unique pieces that embrace their Mexican roots and are influenced by geometric forms, nature, astronomy, and alchemy. "Our branding approach speaks of transformation. Our proposal for naming refers to a woman's metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly when she gets ready to go out. She dresses up, puts her make-up on, and finishes up by slipping on her best jewels. Cocoon honors natural, complex, ever-changing beauty, commending it with its delicate custom logotype and its fresh and feminine color palette. The bright coral breaks up the gray monotone much like an elegant piece of jewelry polishes up a look."        Related Posts:YES, I KNOWThe Rigoletto Brand

Baron Fig

Baron Fig was started by a small group of thinkers that love to sit down with a notebook and give birth to interesting thoughts and ideas. Notebooks on the shelves today fail to deliver on several fronts. There are some that have become exceedingly corporate, causing these tools to be disconnected from the people that are using them, and others that simply don’t work: they are bulky, don’t lay flat, or have pages that rip out of spiral bindings. "We feel that the books available aren’t right for what we do on a daily basis, so we're creating something different."Designed by Joey Cofone and Adam Kornfield, the outer package design was based on simplicity and utility. The boxes have a clear illustration on the cover that lets the viewer know what kind of book is inside—Blank, Ruled, or Dot Grid. "We're a web-only startup (not distributing via wholesale/retail), so the boxes are thick to protect the book as it travels in the mail."        Related Posts:Fifty2: The My Private Brand ProjectThe Illumination Project

Christopher Durham, Founder of My Private Brand, will be presenting The Private Brand Revolution Revealed: Fifty2, The My Private Brand Project at The Dieline Conference on Thursday, May 15, 2014.Durham currently serves as vice president of retail brands at the branding and retail marketing agency Theory House. He is a consultant, strategist and retailer with close to 20 years of real-world retail and corporate experience creating, launching and building billion dollar private brands. He is the founder of the influential website My Private Brand, which seeks to drive the changing private brand landscape, focusing on the emerging art and science of private brand management. While working at Lowe’s Home Improvement, he worked as a brand manager focused on private brand strategy and, over five years, created, managed or repositioned many of its private brands. Prior to Lowe's, he served as brand manager at Delhaize America where he developed and delivered retail brand marketing and private brand strategy and development for Food Lion, Bloom, Bottom Dollar and Harvey’s. Durham will present a challenging look at the state of Private Brands through his first book, Fifty2: The My Private Brand Project. The 52 brands featured in the book radically destroy the notion that all American private brands are ugly knock-offs of national brands and clearly paints a picture of the retail brand revolution that is creating retail-owned brands customers know and love. We asked[..]

The Rigoletto Brand

The Rigoletto Brand was inspired by the opera character Rigoletto, the famously known as the hunch-back Jester.  Redesigned by Studio Polutranko in Croatia, The Rigoletto was created when Amphora was first established. The label has recently undergone a new look with a fresh label to reflect it's name. Rigoletto is an Italian opera character, who is a hunch-back court jester of the Duke of Mantua. The opera is based around a curse that was placed on both the duke and Rigoletto by a courtier whose daughter had been seduced by the Duke with Rigoletto's encouragement. The curse is lifted when the daughter falls in love with the Duke and eventually sacrifices her life to save him from the assasins hired by her father. From this story a fresh new look has been developed to create our Rigoletto 2009 Shiraz from Barossa Valley.        Related Posts:The McLennanDarcy

Rogue Soaps

Designed by United By Blue, Rogue Soaps is a new line of soaps that are all organic and made in Oregon. These soaps were inspired by the rugged terrain of the Rogue River in southwest Oregon and named aptly for it. The names are taken after actual trails around the Rogue River, and the pattern of lines in the packaging is the topography of Crater Lake where the river begins. Each soap bar is individually wrapped and edges torn to lend to the rugged terrain from it which it was inspired. Typography is influenced by vintage 1940s trail maps and national park signage.        Related Posts:The Dope Soap CompanyBirds & Bees
