Design Post 2007: Extremis

At Extremis, Bronco and Corral were omnipresent. Corral is a table that can gather seven Bronco stools, "The extra bit is that a number of options, amongst which a lighting unit can be integrated into the table". You can also turn the table upside down and use it as a pendant light. After the jump, Dirk Wynants' BeHive "a concept based upon a round trampoline, positioned about 60 cm high above the surface. It is surrounded by very comfortable side cushions you can either sit, lean or hang against. And as if the lounging comfort wouldn’t be enough we even provided a Corral table in the middle of BeHive so that everybody can reach it.". At Extremis, Bronco and Corral were omnipresent. Snowden House II

A member of the Crawford Partnership writes; "I work for a small Architecture firm in London. Recently we have completed two new and unusual projects in which your readers may be interested: Snowden House I and Snowden House II. Both are houses built on very tight sites in North London. The confines of the site and restrictions of local planning law meant that the houses were confined in height. Our answer was to go underground and invert the layout of the standard house, placing the bedrooms in the new basement and the living areas above.". Very interesting. More after the jump. IMM Cologne 2007: MDF

MDF Italia had several new products on display, the Highboard shelving system and designer Cory Grosser's Intersection coffee tables above, as well as their Monolite media centre for flatscreen TV and related equipment (see it after the jump). Of note, the Monolite is retro, it makes your LCD look like an old style TV, but in a package that's distinctly modern, not unlike the Plusminuszero LCD TV that's shaped liked a cathode ray tube.
